How to cancel Numo ADHD app, dispute renewals, and find free alternatives

Numo charges $48 to $59.99/year. The exact cancellation steps for iPhone and Android, how to request an App Store refund, and free tools to replace squads.

Cancel Numo at least 24 hours before your trial expires, or Apple and Google will automatically bill you $48.00 to $59.99 for the full annual plan. Simply uninstalling or dragging the icon to your trash does not stop renewal charges. This guide gives you the exact cancellation steps for iOS and Android, instructions on how to dispute surprise charges, and free tools that cover what Numo does.

The trial-to-annual renewal trap

Numo attracts users through social media quizzes and community recommendations, frequently offering a 3-day, 7-day, or 30-day trial.

Like most mobile subscription apps, the marketplace billing engines (Apple App Store and Google Play) schedule the annual renewal charge 24 hours before the trial's final day. If you plan to cancel on the morning of day 7, you will often find a pending $59.99 charge already posted to your credit card or Apple account.

In App Store reviews, the single most repeated complaint is unexpected billing: "I thought deleting the app was enough, but I was charged $60." Deleting an app merely deletes local data; your subscription contract remains active on Apple's or Google's servers until explicitly terminated.

Cancelling on iPhone (Apple App Store)

If you downloaded Numo on an iPhone or iPad, your subscription is managed entirely by Apple, not Numo's developer team. Contacting Numo support will not cancel an App Store subscription.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your Name / Apple ID at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap Numo (or Numo: ADHD Planner & Squads).
  5. Scroll down and tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial).
  6. Tap Confirm when prompted.

Once confirmed, the screen will state: "Expires [Date]" rather than "Renews [Date]". You can continue using Numo until that billing period ends.

Cancelling on Android (Google Play)

If you installed Numo from the Google Play Store:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your device.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then select Subscriptions.
  4. Tap Numo.
  5. Tap Cancel subscription at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Select a reason and confirm cancellation.

How to get a refund for an accidental renewal

Numo does not process customer refunds directly for mobile app store purchases because Apple and Google control payment tokens.

Requesting an Apple Refund (Within 14 Days)

If you were billed without intending to keep the app, submit an official refund claim through Apple:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com on any web browser.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Under "What can we help you with?", select Request a refund.
  4. Under the second dropdown, select I did not intend to renew this subscription or My purchase doesn't work as expected.
  5. Select the Numo charge and click Submit.

Apple typically issues a decision via email within 24 to 48 hours.

Requesting a Google Play Refund

Google allows direct automated refund requests within 48 hours of purchase:

  1. Visit play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.
  2. Find the Numo annual charge.
  3. Select Request a refund or Report a problem and state that the trial renewal was accidental.

Free tools that cover what Numo does

Numo charges roughly $50–$60 per year for three core features: gamified task completion, community squads, and basic ADHD self-screeners. You can replicate all three without recurring fees:

  • Free ADHD Screeners: Take the validated WHO ASRS v1.1 Adult Screener and AuDHD Dual Screener directly on TilTaken. Fully private, scored in-browser, with zero email gates or subscription traps.
  • Task Initiation & Breaking Steps: Goblin Tools is 100% free on the web (and ~$2.99 one-time on mobile). Its "Magic ToDo" breaks complex chores into micro-steps with customizable granularity.
  • Accountability & Body Doubling: Focusmate provides 3 free 1-on-1 virtual co-working sessions every week with real humans, which research shows is significantly more effective than text-based app squads.
  • Daily Visual Timeline: Structured offers a generous free tier for daily scheduling with a clean visual timeline.
